Are You A Very Recent Addict to Jodi Picoult Books And Want To Know What To Read Next?
I suggest you jump right right into My Sisters Keeper (2004) [Amazon] and read forward from there (I mean, progress to her newest novels and leave her older ones behind).
The reason is, that’s about the time Jodi Picoult starting getting a serious following, and, as with all authors, she really found her writing style groove after her first 10 novels.
If you get through that dozen, perhaps you could go right back to where it began with Songs of the Humpback Whale (1992) [Amazon], and read forward from there again.
Chaos: Don’t Care About The Reading Order For Jodi Picoult Novels?
It makes it a bit tricky for keeping track of which ones you’ve read, but Jodi Picoult wrote them in such a way that each story exists on it’s own.
There are only a handful of references to previous characters and some books have no references at all. So if your reading style is chaos, then go for it.
As for me, I like publishing order starting from the middle of the list and reading forward.
What about you? Have you read all the Jodi Picoult books? In what order did you read them?
Have you only recently got addicted to the Jodi Picoult novels? What’s your plan for reading order?

Sheldon, thank you very much for stopping by my post about the Jodi Picoult reading challenge (which will remain open now indefinitely!). Interestingly, I started by reading My Sister’s Keeper, and have read a few others which were published after that, so I have followed your advice, “starting from the middle of the list and reading forward“.
Some of her earlier books are fab I suggest reading from the pact forwards
Thought Small Great Things was my favorite till I read Lone Wolf! Then I just finished Salem Falls and can’t get those characters out of my mind! Just wondering what to read next??
I read a book by Jodi years ago and can’t remember ths name. I remember an older woman in the story getting cancer and commiting suicide but that was towards the end of the book I’m thinking shaman or indian lore was involved Anyone know the book?
Years ago I worked in Barnes & Noble as a bookseller.
One day there was an elderly lady standing in front of the
shelves containing Jodi Picoult’s work. I asked her if I
could be of help in making her selection. I asked if she
had read any of Picoult’s books.
To my surprise, she said that she had read them all.
I asked which was her favorite. Without hesitation she said:
her first one — The Songs of a Humpback Whale.
We all have our favorites, but here is someone who read them all.
I am reading Nineteen Minutes and its really good. I plan on reading more of Jody Picoult for sure. Her writing in 19 minutes really gives a perspective on school shooting. The detail must have taken her a long time to put into the book. I recommend this book and am anxious to read more of her work.
I love her writing! I’ve read 6 books already. I started with Leaving Time and was hooked! I have 5 to read now and 5 more I just ordered from Amazon. I just finished The Book of Two Ways and about to start The Four Winds (I live in Oklahoma so I’m excited to start it tonight). I’ve counted Ms Picoult has 30 books. I’m going to buy them all! Wanda Stephens
I have read 23 of her books. I love her style of writing. I’ve cried at the end of most books. One because the story is over, two , the ending was overwhelming.
There are no bad reads by Jodi P… start anywhere, they are all great!
